To mark International Women’s Day, WIN hosted two significant events focusing on this year’s inspiring theme: For all women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.

Free Health Programme

The first event was a free health programme for women and their children, held near Dalvi Hospital. This initiative aimed to provide essential health checks and screenings to ensure the well-being of women and their families. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the invaluable time and dedication of Dr. Uike and WIN’s committed team. Their efforts made it possible to offer this vital service to the community.

Legal Advice and Support

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to legal aid with a session led by guest speaker Professor Bhutange. This session addressed property matters and disputes, providing much-needed advice and support to women. A significant issue highlighted was the lack of legal knowledge and support, which often results in women relinquishing their rights to inheritance and facing challenges post-divorce. Professor Bhutange's session was met with high engagement, as numerous women present sought guidance and assistance.

These events underscore WIN’s dedication to empowering women and ensuring their rights and equality in all spheres of life.
